If I had to pick the one best reason to stay at this hotel it would be the staff. They go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome. There were so many insistences of staff members going out of their way to accommodate us or help us in some way to even mention them all. That's not even mentioning the hotel itself which is a wonderful place to stay. It's really a cool historical luxury townhouse. Updated where you want it to be while keeping the traditional charm. Clean, comfortable, quiet. The only thing that was even slightly loud was our morning wake up call from the local rooster. In truth, that made it even more charming. Did I mention the location? I don't think it could be better. Sitting on what once must have been a wide boulevard the old road is now a pedestrian walk with the street for cars across the center park section. Walk out the door and you enter history A 3 minute walk gets you into the center of the tourist-old town section but you get to walk back into a quiet tree lined park/boulevard. I hope I didn't forget anything and I'd like to thank the staff for making us feel so welcome. Special thinks to Anna who showed us how to use reverse! (manual cars in Portugal have a different (and for us) tricky reverse on the trans)

Beautiful building full of history. Tastefully decorated throughout. Our room was actually a suite with a beautiful sitting room. The bathroom was huge, beautiful marble, two sinks and a spa bathtub. Outlets on each side of the comfortable bed, beautiful windows opening onto a small terrace, with wooden shutters to block out street noise and darken the room. Big plush robes to lounge around in. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. We had a fantastic dinner, with impeccable service at the hotel restaurant. Better food and service than another Michelin star restaurant in Bilbao. I was really wanting a martini before dinner, and the maître d, while not a mixologist, made a fine dry gin martini! Really a fantastic stay at this property. Cudos to the entire staff!

The location is excellent, as it is in the old town in Braga. There is no traffic noise as the hotel is located in a pedestrian street. The hotel is in a beautiful old building. For those wishing to try good Portuguese food, we highly recommend the hotel restaurant. Staff are lovely and extremely helpful, they genuinely try to help you have a wonderful stay. We had some rather minor things to report to reception - the lady working there said they did not want us to leave feeling bad so we were offered a sumptious dinner at the hotel restaurant. The buffet breakfast here is very nice too.

The location is excellent! Very central and walking distance to many of the main attractions, shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel has that historic feel. The room could use a little freshening up which is why I'm not rating it a 10 but that said the room was very clean and comfortable and quite spacious. Breakfast was included and offered a good variety of food selections - would classify it as continental. It was good value and I would stay again without hesitation.

We loved the staff! They made our stay a very memorable one. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and visits to the historical landmarks. Breakfast was included with our stay and you will not be disappointed because it provided everything we could want. Also, it was very quiet so that we were able to have a restful night sleep. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to Portugal.
