I loved the location because we could walk everywhere. Parking was included for free. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They knew the area and were eager to insure that we had a fabulous stay. All the staff was fluent in Portuguese and English which was helpful when communicating. The buffet was on point, it had so much to choose from and everything was fresh. The buffet breakfast was over the top. The balcony in our suite was the best part of our stay. We had fun hanging out late at night and having coffee on the balcony early in the morning. We had 2 balconies. The room was clean and well stocked. The towels were large and soft. The blow dryer worked great. The room was spacious. I like the decor in the rooms. There were 4 large closets to use. There was plenty of light in the rooms. There a few things that can be improved…The tub was old and very high to enter. The refrigerator did not work and 1 full day we didn’t have WiFi or cable. It was ok because we were out and about most of the time. The room needs plugs for phone chargers in outlets or on lights. Magazines and newspapers were not available to read during breakfast( that would be helpful). It would be helpful to have a small gift shop. The area between the office/ check in and the restaurant needs to be more organized. The only improvement for the bathroom is a new tub and the bidet is too close to the toilet. The room needs one more trash can in the bedroom area. A few bottles of water in the room would be great. I would love a bit of a keepsake from the hotel maybe a towel or cup. Also, there was no phone to call the office. It would be nice if they gave you a history of the hotel. I know it was a 4 star hotel but we enjoyed our stay as much as 5 star hotels. I would recommend this hotel to friends and I would stay here again. We loved the staff, the balcony, the downtown, the free parking. Since the WiFi was done, I know that was not there problem. It was down for the whole area.

If I had to pick the one best reason to stay at this hotel it would be the staff. They go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome. There were so many insistences of staff members going out of their way to accommodate us or help us in some way to even mention them all. That's not even mentioning the hotel itself which is a wonderful place to stay. It's really a cool historical luxury townhouse. Updated where you want it to be while keeping the traditional charm. Clean, comfortable, quiet. The only thing that was even slightly loud was our morning wake up call from the local rooster. In truth, that made it even more charming. Did I mention the location? I don't think it could be better. Sitting on what once must have been a wide boulevard the old road is now a pedestrian walk with the street for cars across the center park section. Walk out the door and you enter history A 3 minute walk gets you into the center of the tourist-old town section but you get to walk back into a quiet tree lined park/boulevard. I hope I didn't forget anything and I'd like to thank the staff for making us feel so welcome. Special thinks to Anna who showed us how to use reverse! (manual cars in Portugal have a different (and for us) tricky reverse on the trans)

Beautiful building full of history. Tastefully decorated throughout. Our room was actually a suite with a beautiful sitting room. The bathroom was huge, beautiful marble, two sinks and a spa bathtub. Outlets on each side of the comfortable bed, beautiful windows opening onto a small terrace, with wooden shutters to block out street noise and darken the room. Big plush robes to lounge around in. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. We had a fantastic dinner, with impeccable service at the hotel restaurant. Better food and service than another Michelin star restaurant in Bilbao. I was really wanting a martini before dinner, and the maître d, while not a mixologist, made a fine dry gin martini! Really a fantastic stay at this property. Cudos to the entire staff!

The location is excellent, as it is in the old town in Braga. There is no traffic noise as the hotel is located in a pedestrian street. The hotel is in a beautiful old building. For those wishing to try good Portuguese food, we highly recommend the hotel restaurant. Staff are lovely and extremely helpful, they genuinely try to help you have a wonderful stay. We had some rather minor things to report to reception - the lady working there said they did not want us to leave feeling bad so we were offered a sumptious dinner at the hotel restaurant. The buffet breakfast here is very nice too.

The location is excellent! Very central and walking distance to many of the main attractions, shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel has that historic feel. The room could use a little freshening up which is why I'm not rating it a 10 but that said the room was very clean and comfortable and quite spacious. Breakfast was included and offered a good variety of food selections - would classify it as continental. It was good value and I would stay again without hesitation.
